Story Review:
The storyline is about Yuji and Marlene mostly. The human race , in space, are trying the best to push Blue back.
Video Review:
awesome. Unbelivebly cool!
Audio Review:
Incredible they sound concerned, angry, sad, and scared when the plot is right.
Subtitle Review:
Good.
General Review:
Blue Gender The Perfect Collection is great! I watch it n cartoon network every day! I love Blue Gender already and this is why i bought it. Plus, it was a unbelivebly low price for a great anime! I love this anime and the episodes will leave you wanting more everyday, like i do. The main characters throughout the series are Yuji and Marlene. They use guns and HUGE machines called Armored Shriks, they fight huge bugs called the Blue. The Blue have taken over planet Earth, pushing the human race to the cold, dark space. a MUST have for every anime fan that will be sure to make you an anime fan if you arent already.

Story Review:
Incredible, totally captivating story, kept me interested in the series.
Video Review:
The only problem I had was on the last disc, my PS2 would not play the last two episodes, but my regular DVD player would.
Audio Review:
Seemes that some of the audio was a little low, but not too noticable.
Subtitle Review:
I wathed the majority of this in the dubbed version, but the portions that I did watch that were subtitled were really well done.
General Review:
Blue Gender was probably one of the best anime series I have seen in a long time. The combat scenes were well animated and scripted, and the story line kept me coming back for more. I would recommend this series to any sci-fi anime fans out there.

This is what Starship Troopers should have been.
Video Review:
It's a dvd, what more can I say...
Audio Review:
Supports surround sound which is always good.
Subtitle Review:
Accurate, no typos from what I can tell.
General Review:
A whole anime series for under 20 USD?!! This is a really great anime series. The plot follows a young man who wakes up from basically being frozen for close to 15 years. The only problem is, he finds that the earth has been invaded by big alien insects called "blue". Thats where story begins. This has got to be one of my favorites!!

General Review:
Anticlimactic and frustrating, Blue Gender is one of those titles that hooks you right from the beginning, but then just fails to deliver. Plot-wise, all the prospects in the first few volumes look good as this series does have excellent character set up and development though in the first three to four volumes. Also, while this series does set you up to take several of the horror-genre twists, such as ?I like this side character, but gah! They died!?, it solidly introduces two constants (Yugi and Marlene) to whom the audience is pretty much forced to become attached to if they want to continue watching and enjoying the series. Yugi, the main, faces and overcomes one of the staples of the ?unwilling hero genre? very early in the series, the whole ?I?m a non-combatant / Shinji-ism,? a feat which allows for some real character growth and development. This growth in character maturity also provides a very realistic background for an interesting ?respect relationship? between him and the leading lady Marlene which (thankfully) doesn?t evolve into ?something more? until much later. Unfortunately, this title seems to get wrapped up in its own plot on its way to the finish line, and about halfway through decided to mess around (badly) with what really made this series tick: Yugi and Marlene. I don?t know what gave them this bright idea, but basically the scriptwriter decided to go on an entirely different escapade (no, not a twist) about halfway through the series, taking all the character?s maturity and just totally throwing it all out the window. Yugi, who I praised so highly for overcoming the ?Evangelion dilemma? so early in the series suddenly reverts to being an immature, competitive a-hole (with reasons, I guess...). This forces Marlene who, at the beginning of the series, was an amazing ?cold outside/ warm inside? character, to come out of her shell and play a kind of ?mother?-type character to Yugi, instead of who the audience has known through the whole series. Also, it becomes apparent a little before halfway through that, in the future, ?something more? as far as relationships are concerned will not exactly be the same. You see, everyone gets something more. Oh, they justify it of course: ?In times like these, is it wrong to do something that allows you to feel ?human??? All in all, though, this just adds up to everyone getting a whole lot of play, and though I don?t remember any of the scenes shown in a direct and pornographic manner (mostly just to add some scenery to a camera pan of a room) there is no doubt of what?s going on. The ending just rounds out the whole frustrating last half of the plot, containing about the same amount of preaching in one hour as was contained in the entirety of Princess Mononoke, it peters out to become one of the most anticlimactic and rather boring attempts at an ending that I have ever seen. Animation-wise, up to the halfway point, the animation had been mediocre to bad, but ignorable because the plot was so involving. Now, however, looking back, it?s hard to see how it was ignorable seeing as how it took so many shortcuts. I mean, for example: Giving the mecha wheels on the feet so that they don?t have to animate walking during the ?low-importance? scenes (like traveling & such). As for music? Well, I think I remember some mediocre background rock music, but nothing to write home about and nothing that I can remember with too much clarity, so it?s definitely not an issue in this series. After all is said and done though, the fight scenes with the Blue and a few ?touching? moments between characters are the only saving graces to the last half of this series. What a waste.

Story Review:
The story as I said above is epic. It really brings you in the "we are the world" mentality.
Video Review:
The video is great on this set. My friend lent me his copy recently and I really want to get myself one.
Audio Review:
Marvelous. The nerve tingling music hits the right chords with whatever tone they need. The small details to the audio help you bring yourself into the series.
Subtitle Review:
Not without it's faults. The average fan will most likely just watch the dubbed version, but I usually go out of my way to watch the subbed version with original japanese dialouge.
General Review:
A very epic story about a boy who is basically frozen to be brought back when a cure is found for his illness. When he wakes up, it's a weird and twisted world. These aliens that they call "blue" have taken over the world in the 22 years that he was frozen. Humans now live on a station in space they call "second earth". This includes many plot twists and leaves you on a rollcoaster filled with twists and turns. This DVD set provides everything you need to follow this story. You'll definetly want to watch it with it's subtitle's and original japanese audio. While I'm not usually into sci-fi/alien shows, this really appealed to me.

Story Review:
Wonderful. Cinematography is GREAT. The animation quality itself isnt as good as from other studios..like Gainax (flcl) but hey..who else is? Once you get past that you really fall into the awesome story.
Video Review:
Excellent video quality
Audio Review:
Excellent audio
Subtitle Review:
Perfect subtitles. Absolutely perfect.
General Review:
Well, the guys above have said most of it, but I just wanted to drop by two cents. PEOPLE, BUY THIS ANIME. First off, the characters are some of the most memorable anywhere. When I first saw it I got thrown off a bit by how whiney and useless and weak the protagonist is, but that changes pretty fast. *SPOILER* It's also shocking how..raw it is. A lot of times seemingly significant charcters just kick the bucket, BAM. And you're left in complete shock. Totally agree with the guy above about the Yung scene..*sob* This edition is awesome, too. 25 bucks or so for the freakin perfect edition of everything? Oh my god...

Very very good.

Great story and characters. i hated the animation, it is crude, sharp, and unattractive, but that is because i like bright happy colors, and this is a war with bugs show, but other than the animation (in my opinion) i LOVE this show

Story Review:
Boy wakes up from 20-year-long cryogenic-induced sleep and meets girl. Girl protects boy. Boy likes girl. Girl couldn't care less about boy. Boy hates girl. Girl likes boy. Boy li--wait, what was I talking about?
Video Review:
Sometimes the drawing style bothers me, but that's a personal discrepancy. The cinematography is beautiful.
Audio Review:
A little dampened in some parts, still very good. Very effective use of drama music. That mechanical click-click-craaank music chills me to the bone...
Subtitle Review:
Pretty good. Preferred the dub, actually, but the sub's still good.
General Review:
This anime is incredible. The summary doesn't do it credit. I have watched every single episode (which is kinda weird, since I started in the middle then went back after the finale) and the cinematography in this is...incredible. When *spoiler alert* Yune dies, and Yuji is watching her, I was in shock for several minutes before crying. And I do -not- cry easily. The battle scenes in this are great, too. I'm not even a mecha fan, yet this anime is an exception. Dramatic and romantic and action-packed...that's Blue Gender for you.
